ACWUA 4th Regional Training Program - Negotiation and Cross-Sector Cooperation for Good Water Governance 16 - 20 October 2011

 

ACWUA in cooperation with GIZ is planning for the 4th Regional Training course within the "Water Utilities Performance-WUP" Program.

This training course enables participants to analyse and understand conflicts over competing water uses, to be part of a water dialogue process to explore and implement fair and equitable solutions in the allocation and efficient use of water, and to act as change agents in a complex institutional setting towards solutions for sustainable water uses,following the internationally accepted principles of IWRM.

Target Group: Senior managers from water utilities; senior staff from government (ministries, departments, local water agencies)involved in water master planning, IWRM, water allocation and transboundary water management; water regulators; other water resources managers; other stakeholder representatives (e.g. ministry of agriculture, irrigation, hydropower); environmental and social development NGOs.

Deadline for applications: 28 September 2011 The selection of about 28 participants will be done by the organisers latest on 30th September 2011. The selection will be based on qualification, experience, reasons for attending, a regional balance, and a sound mix of organisational and professional background.
