Accordingly, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation will pay every effort to continuously support ACWUA until the latter become able to achieve its targets.

ESCWA is pleased to have served on the Foundation Committee that launched ACWUA, in cooperation with GTZ.  ESCWA now continues to support ACWUA institutionally and substantively through on-going collaboration with GTZ and other partners on a variety of topics, including water supply and sanitation benchmarking, climate change and integrated water resources management.

The German Government - through GTZ – and in close cooperation with ESCWA promoted the creation of ACWUA right from the start. The ongoing technical, managerial and financial support aims to strengthen the institutional and professional capacity of ACWUA.

IWA as the premier global association for water professionals will work with ACWUAs partners to provide institutional support and development of the Associations strategy and core functions. Furthermore, IWA will support ACWUA in the organization of events and ensure they have a presence in key international events.

DWA – the German Association supported ACWUA from its beginning in 2007. Since than the DWA and its work in standardization, information, certification and education is a model for ACWUA.
DWA supports also national Associations in the region like OSEA/Syria and WUSP/Palestine.
DWA with its 60 years of experiences is a strong partner in Capacity Development for Associations.

The German Government - through InWEnt – Capacity Building International – will continue to cooperate with ACWUA in the Technical Working Group on Capacity Building and Training to strengthen the institutional and professional capacity of ACWUA and its member water utilities. In addition, ACWUA is cooperating with InWEnt in conducting the annual International Partner Forum on Water Governance in the MENA Region.
